Paying and Renewing

How paying for a plan works through Tebex: one-off payments, subscriptions and Lifetime, renewing early, and claiming a payment that did not apply.

Paid plans are bought through Tebex, MonoAdmin’s payment provider. You choose a plan in the panel, sign in with your Cfx.re account, pay in Tebex’s checkout, which opens over the panel, and the plan changes when Tebex confirms the payment. MonoAdmin does not set prices: they are on the Pricing page, before sales tax, and the final amount appears at the Tebex checkout.

Only the project owner can buy a plan or see payments. The owner finds both under Settings: Plan to buy, Payments for the history. What each plan includes is on Plans and Limits.

One-Off Payments, Subscriptions and Lifetime

A payment buys a fixed period of one plan. Pricing shows how long a period is. There are two kinds, and a third plan that works differently.

  • A one-off payment buys one period and does not renew. The Plan screen says “Paid until {date} ({days}). It does not renew by itself: pay again before then to keep {plan}.”
  • A subscription charges you again each period through Tebex, so the plan renews by itself. The Plan screen says “Renews automatically on {next}.” Check the Tebex checkout before you pay: it shows what you are about to buy.

For a subscription, the plan runs until the next payment date plus a grace period of 3 days. If a renewal payment is declined, the plan stays active through that grace period while Tebex retries.

Every automatic charge of a subscription is added to the project the subscription belongs to, with nothing for you to do. It shows on Settings > Payments with a Renewal tag, and you get the same “Payment received for {project}” email as for the first payment. A declined charge shows as Declined and sends you a notice that the payment failed, and a refunded charge ends the plan like any refunded payment.

Lifetime is one payment that buys no period at all. It puts the project on Lifetime, with the same limits as Enterprise, and the plan has no end date. It is not a subscription, so nothing renews and nothing is charged again. The Plan screen says “Paid once, with no end date. There is nothing to renew and no subscription to keep. A refund of the payment ends Lifetime.” What Lifetime is and how it ends are on Plans and Limits.

Buying a Plan

  1. Open your project and go to Settings > Plan.
  2. On the plan you want, choose its button. The label depends on where you stand.
  3. If a dialog appears, read it, then choose Continue to Checkout.
  4. The panel shows “Opening Tebex checkout…” and takes you to Tebex, which asks you to sign in with your Cfx.re account first. Our store is a FiveM store, and Tebex puts nothing in a basket before the buyer signs in. Any Cfx.re account will do for a plan.
  5. Tebex brings you back to Settings > Plan, and Tebex’s checkout opens over the panel. Pay there. The checkout is Tebex’s own page in a frame: what you type in it goes to Tebex, not to MonoAdmin.
  6. When the payment goes through, the panel takes you to Thanks for Your Payment, which waits for the confirmation and then says “Payment confirmed. {plan} is active until {date}.” For Lifetime it says “Payment confirmed. {plan} is active, with no end date.”

The plan changes when Tebex tells MonoAdmin the payment went through, not when the checkout closes. That is usually within a minute, and MonoAdmin emails you a notice titled “Payment received for {project}”. If it is slow, you can leave the page: the plan changes on its own. If you close the checkout without paying, you stay on Settings > Plan: nothing was charged and the plan did not change. If the checkout cannot open in the panel, for example because something in your browser blocks it, the panel takes you to Tebex’s checkout page instead.

Button When you see it What it does
Upgrade to {plan} A plan above your current one. The new plan starts at once and runs a full period. Time left on your current plan is not carried over, and the dialog “Switch to {plan}?” tells you how much that is.
Renew {plan} Your current plan. Adds a period after the current end. The dialog “Renew {plan} Now?” shows both dates.
Pay for {plan} Again Your current plan, after a payment problem, when no subscription renews it. Pays for the plan again.
Switch to {plan} A plan below your current one. Cannot be bought while the higher plan is still paid for.
Get Lifetime Lifetime, on a project that does not have it yet. Lifetime starts at once and never ends. The dialog “Get {plan}?” says that it replaces your current plan and has Enterprise’s limits for this project, for good. If the current plan is paid for, the time left on it is not carried over. If the project has a subscription, cancel it on Tebex first.

Renewing Early

With a one-off plan you can pay again before it ends. The new period is added after the current end, not from today, so no paid time is lost. If the plan ends on the 20th and you renew on the 10th, it then runs one period beyond the 20th. The renew dialog shows the old and the new end date before you pay.

Lifetime has nothing to renew. A plan with an active subscription cannot be paid for again by hand. The button explains: “Your subscription already renews this plan.”

Subscriptions and Cancelling

A project can have only one subscription at a time. If you want a different plan while a subscription is active, cancel the subscription first, then buy. That includes Lifetime: buying it while a subscription is active is refused, so cancel the subscription on Tebex and then buy. A subscription you have already cancelled does not stand in the way.

MonoAdmin cannot cancel a subscription. Cancel or change it from the link in your Tebex receipt email, or on your Tebex customer page. After you cancel, the plan screen shows Ends Soon: “The subscription is cancelled. {plan} stays active until {date}, then the project moves to Starter.” Tebex does not charge you again. About 3 days before the end you get a reminder email.

Deleting a project does not cancel its subscription either. Cancel it on Tebex before you delete the project.

The Payments Screen

Settings > Payments lists the last 20 payments for the project. Each row shows the plan, a Renewal tag for automatic charges, the date, the Tebex transaction ID with a copy button, the amount and a status:

Status Meaning
Paid The payment went through.
Declined The payment did not go through. Nothing was charged.
Refunded The money was returned. A refund ends the plan it paid for.
Disputed The payment is disputed with the bank. If the dispute is lost, the plan ends.

A refunded Lifetime payment, or a Lifetime payment whose dispute is lost, ends Lifetime: the project moves to its best subscription that still runs, or to Starter. When a Plan Ends or Runs Over has the details.

With no payments yet, the screen says “No payments yet”. Payments show up here usually within a minute.

I Paid but Nothing Changed

If you paid on Tebex and the project’s plan did not change after a few minutes, or you paid without going through the panel, claim the payment.

  1. Open Settings > Payments and choose I Paid but Nothing Changed.
  2. Enter the Transaction ID from your Tebex receipt email. It looks like tbx-1a2b3c4d.
  3. Enter the Email Used to Pay, the address the receipt was sent to.
  4. Choose Add Payment.

The result is one of these:

  • “Payment added. {plan} is active until {date}.”
  • “Payment added. {plan} is active, with no end date.” for a Lifetime payment.
  • “Payment added. {current} has no end date and stays; the {plan} payment does not replace it.” when the project already has Lifetime.
  • “Payment added. {current} is paid for until {date} and stays; the {plan} payment does not replace it.”
  • A warning that the payment’s days are already over, so the plan did not change.
  • “Payment added. The plan shown here will update in a moment.”

A claimed payment counts from the moment it was made, so only the time that is left of it applies. A Lifetime payment has no period to count. It never replaces a higher plan that is still paid for. A payment can be added to one project, once.

  • For a subscription, claim only the first payment. The charges that follow it are added to the same project by themselves, so you never claim them, and the form refuses a later charge of a subscription whose first payment already belongs to a project.
  • A payment stays with the project it joined, whether it joined through the checkout or through a claim. If that project is deleted, its payments cannot be added to another project, and its subscription’s later charges do not move to one either. Cancel the subscription on Tebex before you delete the project.

An unknown transaction ID, a wrong email, a payment that was already added and one that cannot be added all get the same answer, so nobody can use the form to probe other people’s payments: “No payment matches that transaction ID and email. Check both against your Tebex receipt. A payment already added to a project cannot be added again.”

When Checkout Refuses

What you see Why
“A higher plan is paid for. You can buy this plan after it ends.” You are paid up on a higher plan, and a lower one can be bought once it ends. You see the same message on any plan while MonoAdmin has granted your plan.
“This project already has a subscription. Cancel it in Tebex before starting another.” One subscription at a time. Buying Lifetime counts too: cancel the subscription first.
“This project has Lifetime, so there is nothing more to buy.” The project already has Lifetime, which never ends. No plan can be bought for it.
“This plan is not sold here. Contact support to get it.” The plan has no checkout. Write to hello@monoadmin.net.
“Plans cannot be bought here right now.” Checkout is switched off.
“Tebex, our payment provider, could not be reached, or this plan cannot be bought right now. Nothing was charged. Try again in a few minutes.” Tebex did not answer.
“Only the project owner can buy a plan.” Billing belongs to the owner.

While MonoAdmin has granted your plan, checkout is refused whichever plan you pick, because a payment would change nothing while the grant stands. Contact MonoAdmin support at hello@monoadmin.net to change a granted plan.

Emails About Your Plan

The owner is told by email, and by Discord message if the Billing topic is on, when a payment is received, declined or refunded, when a plan is about to end and when it has ended. See Notifications. For what happens next, read When a Plan Ends or Runs Over.
