Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to common questions about MonoAdmin: frameworks, bans while offline, your data, plans, staff access and what is not supported yet.

These are the questions server owners ask most. Each answer is short and links to the page with the whole story. If you are looking for an error message, go to Troubleshooting instead.

Getting Started and Compatibility

Which Frameworks Does MonoAdmin Support?

ESX (1.13.5 to 1.16.0), QBCore, Qbox (1.22.5 and later), and servers with no framework (standalone). Moderation, the live map, the Player Monitor, screenshots, reports and Server Logs work on all of them, standalone included. Jobs, money, items and character data need a framework. See Supported Frameworks.

I Run a Fork of ESX or QBCore. Will It Work?

MonoAdmin recognises a framework by its resource name: es_extended, qb-core or qbx_core. A fork that keeps the name is detected as that framework. How well it works depends on whether the fork keeps the original’s functions, and only the versions on the Supported Frameworks page have been tested.

Do I Need oxmysql?

Only for the Character tab and the Vehicles page, which read your framework’s database. Everything else works without it. Other database resources (mysql-async, ghmattimysql) are not enough for those two. See Requirements.

Which Inventory, Ambulance, Voice and Chat Resources Work?

Inventories: ox_inventory and qb-inventory best, as described on Inventory Resources. Ambulance scripts: ten are supported, plus MonoAdmin’s own revive, as listed on Revive and Ambulance Scripts. Voice mutes use FiveM’s Mumble voice (including pma-voice), and text mutes use the default chat resource. See Voice and Text Mutes.

Does It Work With jg-advancedgarages and lb-phone?

Yes, with jg-advancedgarages v3 and lb-phone 2. With jg, the Vehicles page follows jg’s own garages and impound lots, an impound takes a reason and a retrieval cost, and a car deleted in the world goes back to its garage. With lb-phone, the Character tab shows lb-phone’s number, Reset Lock clears a forgotten PIN, and Server Logs can record public posts and calls. jg v4 is shown but not changed yet. See Garage Scripts and Phone Scripts.

Does It Work Together With txAdmin?

They do different jobs and can run side by side. You can run MonoAdmin’s link command from txAdmin’s Live Console. The project owner can import txAdmin’s players, bans, warnings, notes and whitelist from its database backup; see Move From txAdmin. The two do not stay in step by themselves, though: txAdmin does not see MonoAdmin’s bans, and a ban added in txAdmin after the import reaches MonoAdmin only when you import again. If you use MonoAdmin’s whitelist, set txAdmin’s Allowlist Mode to External Allowlist Resource or Disabled under Settings > Allowlist, or players have to pass both. See Whitelist.

Another Script Already Uses /report. What Do I Do?

MonoAdmin tells you. While Player Reports is on, it looks for other resources that register the same command, on your server and in players’ games (that part shows up once a player has joined). Settings > Features and the guided setup then show a warning that names each resource, with three ways to settle it:

  • Use Another Command. Give MonoAdmin’s reports a different name in the Report Command box. The other script keeps /report.
  • Keep /report, Turn Off the Other Script. Remove the resource’s ensure line from server.cfg and restart, or type stop <resource> in the server console for now. MonoAdmin never changes your server itself, and the warning clears by itself once the script has stopped.
  • Turn Off MonoAdmin’s Player Reports. Only the owner can. Players can no longer send reports in game with MonoAdmin, but reports your staff open in the panel keep working.

Which script answers when two resources register the same command has not been checked on a real server, so settle the warning rather than leaving both. See Features and Modules.

Which Servers and Operating Systems Does It Run On?

MonoAdmin is for FiveM (GTA V) servers. The resource is JavaScript and Lua with no native code, so it does not depend on the operating system. MonoAdmin’s own test servers run on Windows.

Do I Need to Open a Port, Add ACE Permissions or Install Anything for Players?

No to all three. The resource only connects outward, to ws.monoadmin.net over HTTPS, so there is no inbound port. Who may do what is decided by roles in the panel, not by ACE. Players receive the resource’s client files from your server like any other resource and see nothing different until staff use MonoAdmin, apart from the report command (/report unless you rename it) if you turn player reports on. See Requirements.

No. One project is one game server. To link a second server, create a second project; each has its own plan, team and settings. An account can own up to 10 projects. Linking a new server to a project replaces the old link, and the new server downloads the project’s bans. See Link Your Server.

Bans and Moderation

Do Bans Work When MonoAdmin Is Down?

Yes. Your server keeps its own copy of every ban, mute and community service order and checks each joining player against it first, so bans hold when the cloud is unreachable and after a restart. See How Bans Are Enforced.

Players who are not on the list are let in by default. If you prefer to refuse everyone while MonoAdmin cannot be reached, turn on Block joins while MonoAdmin is unreachable under Settings > Game Settings. It keeps staff out too, and players see “This server cannot check your access right now. Please try again in a few minutes.”

Can I Ban a Player Who Is Offline?

Yes. Find the player in Issue Punishment, by name, server ID or a pasted identifier. A ban or a mute on an offline player is recorded at once and applies when they next join. A kick needs the player to be online. See Punishments.

Can I Whitelist My Server?

Yes. Under Settings > Whitelist you choose one of five modes: Off, Admin Only, Discord Server Member, Discord Roles or Approved List. Staff always get in. In Approved List mode a player who is refused gets a Whitelist ID, which staff approve, or which the player uses on an application form you write, through the link in the join message (the ID alone does not open the form). The check runs when a player joins, so players already online stay. While the whitelist is on and your server cannot reach MonoAdmin, players are kept out, staff included. See Whitelist.

Can Banned Players Appeal?

MonoAdmin has no appeal feature. Staff with the Revoke Punishments permission can lift a ban at any time, giving a reason, and the player can join again straight away. If you want to take appeals, you could set up a custom ticket type for them; see Discord Tickets.

Does a Ban Catch Players Who Make a New Account?

A sticky ban also blocks accounts MonoAdmin links to the banned player by a shared license, Discord, Steam or FiveM identifier, or by several shared hardware tokens. IP addresses are never used to match players. See Sticky Bans and Linked Accounts.

What Does a Banned Player See?

“You are banned from this server.”, the reason, and either “This ban is permanent.”, “This ban ends on” a date in your project’s time zone, or “This ban is temporary.” A kicked player sees “You were kicked from this server.” and the reason. They do not see who issued it.

Can I Import Bans, or Share Them Between Projects?

You can import them from txAdmin, but not share them between projects. The owner uploads txAdmin’s database backup under Settings > Import from txAdmin; see Move From txAdmin. There is no import from any other tool, and each project has its own punishments, players and settings. The bans MonoAdmin enforces are the ones issued in that project or imported into it.

Your Data

What Does MonoAdmin Store About My Players?

Names, identifiers and hardware tokens (to enforce bans), their visits, positions for the Tracking tab, and what your staff write in notes and reports. See Data, Privacy and Retention.

Who Can See Player IP Addresses?

The project owner, and members whose role has View Player IPs. Everyone else sees them masked. IP addresses are kept on visits for 90 days and then removed.

How Long Is My History Kept?

How far back you can read logs, analytics, tracking and files depends on your plan. See Plans and Limits and Data, Privacy and Retention.

Can I Export or Delete My Data?

Reports can be exported as an HTML page, JSON data, or a ZIP with the files. The panel has no export for the player list, punishments or logs. The owner can delete a project under Settings > Delete Project, which permanently deletes its players, punishments, reports, logs, roles and members and cannot be undone. See Update or Remove the Resource. For a copy of your account’s data, or to delete your account, write to hello@monoadmin.net from the address of your account; the Privacy Policy explains both. Questions about it are also welcome in our Discord at monoadmin.net/discord, but a request to see or delete data goes by email.

Plans and Billing

Is There a Free Plan?

Yes. Every project starts on the free Starter plan, with no payment method needed. Paid plans raise limits such as how many players can be online. See Plans and Limits and the pricing page.

What Is Lifetime?

Lifetime is one payment for one project, with the same limits as Enterprise, for as long as MonoAdmin runs. It does not renew and has no end date. A refund of its payment ends it, and the project then moves to its best subscription that still runs, or to Starter. If the project has an active subscription, cancel it on Tebex before you buy Lifetime. See Plans and Limits and Paying and Renewing.

What Happens If More Players Join Than My Plan Allows?

Your server keeps running and players keep playing, but players over the limit are not tracked, and most panel pages lock until the count drops or the plan is upgraded. The dashboard, billing and settings stay open. See When a Plan Ends or Runs Over.

How Do I Pay, and How Do I Cancel?

Paid plans are sold through Tebex, as one-off payments or subscriptions, and Lifetime as one payment that never ends. MonoAdmin cannot cancel a subscription for you; you cancel it from your Tebex receipt. See Paying and Renewing.

Staff and Access

How Do I Give My Staff Access?

Invite them by email under Settings > Members and give each a role. A role is a rank with a set of permissions. They sign in with their own account. See Members and Invitations and Roles and Permissions.

How Do Staff Use the In-Game Menu?

The owner turns on In-Game Menu under Settings > Features. Each staff member links their game account in Settings > My Membership (a code, then /madmin link in game) and needs the Open the In-Game Menu permission. Then /madmin opens the menu, or the key the project picked. Only people who are members of the project can open it. See Turn On and Open the Menu.

Security

Can the Cloud Run Anything It Wants on My Server?

No. The cloud sends a fixed set of validated commands, such as kick, heal and announce. The one exception is code you write yourself: if you choose Custom for Revive under Settings > Advanced, your project’s own revive code runs on your game server, with dangerous functions blocked. Only a member with the Advanced Settings permission can write it, so give that permission only to people you trust. The resource listens to a short fixed list of game events, and the link credential is never kept in a convar. See How MonoAdmin Is Secured.

If a second server connects with it, the first is cut off and the project owner is emailed. Unlink, then link again with a new code under Settings > Server Link. See Link Your Server.

What Is Not Supported

Is There an API or API Keys?

No. MonoAdmin has no public API for customers. Your own scripts can send log lines to it with webhooks and punish players with an export.

Can MonoAdmin Send Webhooks to Discord or Other Services?

No. Webhooks work in one direction only: your scripts send to MonoAdmin. For Discord there are tickets (see Discord Tickets) and optional Discord direct messages for account events (see Notifications).

Can I Transfer a Project or Delete My Account Myself?

Not by yourself. Moving a project to a new owner is done by MonoAdmin staff, and there is no self-service account deletion. Contact MonoAdmin support at hello@monoadmin.net from the address of your account. You can ask a question about it in our Discord at monoadmin.net/discord first, but keep account details out of a public channel. You can delete a project yourself.

Which Languages and Devices Are Supported?

The panel and the in-game menu are available in English only. There is no mobile app; the panel adapts to phone screens in a browser.
